Ryan Bader vs Vadim Nemkov

Ryan Bader (-160)

Record: 27-5-0

Age: 37

Height: 6’2″

Weight: 205

Reach: 74″

Last 5 Fights:

NC – Eye Poke – Cheick Kongo

W – KO – Linton Vassell

Bader is a perfect 5-0-1 in the Bellator cage. His last loss came in the UFC against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson almost 5 years ago. His last fight ended in a no contest after just 3:52 in the 1st round due to an eye poke. He’s an excellent wrestler with a heavy ground game and he’s solid on the feet. He has 12 KO/TKO’s and 3 submissions out of his 27 wins. He went 15-5 in the UFC against opponents like Jon Jones, Lyoto Machida, and Glover Teixeira. Bader will be looking to stake his claim as the best light-heavyweight in the world with a win over the up-and-coming Vadim Nemkov.

Vadim Nemkov (+130)

Record: 11-2-0

Age: 28

Height: 6’0″

Weight: 205

Reach: 75.5″

Last 5 Fights:

W – Sub – Rafael Carvalho

W – Dec – Phil Davis

W – KO – Liam McGeary

W – KO – Philipe Lins

W – KO – Alison Vicente

Nemkov is on a very impressive run to begin his time at Bellator. He’s 4-0 with 3 finishes and a decision over the ultra-durable Phil Davis. He’s a 4-time Combat Sambo World Champion and protege to Fedor Emelianenko. He has 8 1st-round finishes out of his 11 wins and he’s also proven to have solid cardio going the distance against Davis. He uses excellent leg kicks and he’s proven they can end the fight against Liam McGeary. With a win over Bader, the 28-year old Nemkov will have already beaten the last 3 Bellator Light-Heavyweight Champions.

Prediction: Nemkov via KO/TKO

Bader hasn’t fought anybody under 40 in his last 3 fights. Believe it or not he hasn’t fought anybody under 30 since 2011. 40-year old Matt Mitrione took him to a decision and his last win is over a 43-year old Fedor. Nemkov is only 28 and he’ll be much faster than the older heavyweights he’s gotten accustomed to. Nemkov has the grappling to match Bader and I expect him to control where this fight takes place. Look for him to keep this on the feet and use his speed advantage to pick Bader apart. Take Nemkov to get it done.
